This was all a bunch of political bull shite and posturing to get people to fold. LSU likes fed money and feds definitely held this over LSU. LSU acted horribly in not backing their scientist. I wouldn't come here to do research if I was a scientist if that is how they treated people

I like how they tried to hide the e-mails, but failed.
LSU administration needs to step up their game and quit playing politics. If not, LSU academics will continue to decline.

A lot of people at LSU should have lost their jobs over this sorry incident, and none of them are named Van Heerden. I'm ashamed of my alma mater.

When the judge ruled that the e-mails could be entered into evidence LSU folded like a cheap suit and settled within an hour. That tells me all I need to know.

Good for him. A family friend was the fireman that was recording the 17th St canal from Lakeway Tower and his video clearly showed the Corps side of the canal breach from pressure and not that the water levels were topping the levee. He came forward with the tape during the congressional hearings showing that the defense of the corps was blatantly inaccurate. He was served with a gag order until they released the report. What Congress and what LSU did is why this state is fd up going back generations. Just cover their asses and take in money, F the people right?

Was going to ask the same question. Damn this man for owning personal property. 
This guy is an expert in his field and gave a non politically astute response to the question asked of him.
Perhaps we should be asking why the levees were not built correctly, or have someone from the Corps explain how they were.
