Ohhhhhhh shite son! In the words of every virgin male having sex for the first time with a girl, "I'm in!" When I get home from LSU baseball game, I'm going to surf and find a trade that gives us 82 wins lol

Apparently it won't link it anymore but, Hornets get: Durant, Kyrie Irving, Andre Drummond Pistons get: Jason Smith Cavs get: Austin Rivers OKC gets: Gordon, Aminu and Henry +14 wins to take the lead

The trade has to make sense too. No way the Pistons dump Drummond for Smith and the Cavs trade Irving for Rivers.

Posted it in an MSB thread. Don't necessarily agree with it (I wouldn't do it), but something to consider: Vasquez Lopez Henry for Rondo would be interesting. Gives the Celtics the best chance to win it all this year (they've won 7 of 8 without Rondo) and good pieces to build on in the future. Gives the Hornets a fringe elite player to put next to EG, and potentially the best defensive backcourt in the NBA. Again, I wouldn't do it (I love Lopez, even in the pants a little), but figured I'd mix things up in this thread with a legit trade option that "works" for both teams. ETA: The Celtics/Lakers are supposedly mulling a Howard for Rondo trade. If they're worried about Howard bolting after this season, our trade would be more attractive. They're apparently adamant on competing THIS season, and I think our trade would help them do it.

it's interesting.... i like rondo. triple-double machine. would be a huge upgrade defensively. Henry will be out of the league soon, and before this season, Lopez was a scrub. It would leave us with a major hole at C. i really like Vasquez so I probably wouln't do it, but I don't think it's a bad deal

Not only that, but leave us with about $3m more on the books next season, thus affecting our options at filling out our roster. I still think that, even post trade, we would have a chance at a roster like: Rondo/Roberts EG/Rivers Aminu/? AD/Ryno AlJeff/Smiht Which would be an amazing starting lineup, superb 6th man, and probably 2 more good backups + a lotto pick this year (a higher one than we have now since our team gets quite a bit worse this season). The big thing after that is replacing Lopez's SUPERB contract. Since AD will soon enough be playing the 5 in crunch time, we don't need a great player starting at center. We could easily bypass Jefferson and Pek, and go with someone like Okafor or Mozgov to play 25MPG. That would allow us the money to sign a guy like Corey Brewer, thus leaving us a team that is a draft pick away from having no scrubs (which is a guy that won't get no love from me.) Rondo/Rivers or pick EG/Rivers of pick Brewer/Aminu AD/Ryno Okafor/Smiht (with AD at the 5 in crunch) That team would be fricking legit. Really, now that I put more thought into the Vasquez/Lopez/Henry for Rondo trade, the more I like it. Rondo and Vasquez are pretty similar offensively, but you're obviously getting a MASSIVE upgrayedd defensively.

nice work...do you think the celtics would be interested in that?

i like this route better, and think it meshes better with Davis developing into a bonafide PF/C superstar.

OKC is a team worth calling. They have both Toronto's and Dallas's first round picks this year. Presti might be willing to use one or both of them to make the team stronger for the playoffs. Mason would be a great fit off the bench. His shooting would fit perfectly next to Westbrook and Durant. Remember this team played the corpse of Derek Fisher 22mpg in the playoffs last year. A Westbrook/Mason/Martin/Durant/Ibaka lineup, while tricky defensively, would be crazy on offense- a nice fit v small ball Spurs and Heat. OKC can toss the expiring of Orton or Maynor to NO to sweeten the deal. For the Hornets an extra pick makes them so much more flexible. Obviously an extra player to build depth, but also an extra rookie contract chip to use in a potential trade for a big money player. ETA- Missed that Dalla's first is top 20 protected, so OKC won't have it. This scenario is not going to happen. I doubt they move the only lottery pick they will have for the next decade for a backup shooter

4-team Gordon trade that brings Deng to New Orleans Lakers Lose: Pau Gasol Gain: Andrea Bargnani, Landry Fields Financial: Potential 8-figure tax savings Raptors Lose: Andrea Bargnani, Landry Fields Gain: Carlos Boozer Financial: Short-term savings, may avoid tax Bulls Lose: Carlos Boozer, Luol Deng, Rip Hamilton, Kirk Hinrich Gain: Pau Gasol, Eric Gordon, Roger Mason, Al-Farouq Aminu Financial: Short-term savings, may avoid tax Hornets Lose: Eric Gordon, Roger Mason, Al-Farouq Aminu Gain: Luol Deng, Rip Hamilton, Kirk Hinrich Financial: $5m in 2013-2014 Season, could eliminate highest value players as free agent targets The deal works in the Trade Machine, and the analysis shows that each team remains pretty stable in terms of predicted wins this season. However, fit and performance in the future (e.g. as Gordon potentially returns to form or better), and salary concerns may tip the scales. To me, that result clearly shows that no team is clearly winning or losing . . . a good sign. I have no reason to believe that this is best of such trades, but I made it to show that a deal for Gordon does not have to bring back albatross contracts or total projects. My hope (stated in the linked article) is that others use similar thinking to come up with a new vein of trade ideas. Here is a lengthy explanation of the reasoning behind it. LINK /

Thanks. I have a ton of stuff in the article (too long to post, I think, but I'll post if people are click averse . . . it's not the kind of party. I tried to look at cap situations over the coming seasons, tax implications, specific player deals (Rip's deal is only guaranteed $1m next season, so he can be waived with minor consequence, for instance), etc. There are tweaks to be made, but I'd like to see other deals in the same vein . . . player gets shed `there', and the dominoes fall to bring quality to New Orleans because someone is willing to take a risk for title or financial reasons.

I think Gordon's a better player than Deng but Deng may be a better fit. He's plays the defense that Monty would love and it would open up more minutes for Rivers down the stretch. Would also clear up any logjams if we're lucky enough to have Mclemore fall into our laps, or Muhammad who fits better at the SG spot size-wise.

Rhyno has not earned his salary by underperforming in the shootout. what can we get for him.

Agreed. His shorter deal may allow him to be traded more easily if a deal comes along, as well. Plus, he plays more.

27. 28 before the end of this season. 29 at the end of next season, which is when his contract expires.

How about Lopez, Henry and Mason Jr for Deandre Jordan? Apparently he is on the block and the trade helps the clips in the short and long run,

i think would should keep Gordon but if we do trade him New Orleans Hornets Owed Tax -$6,213,584 Cap Room -$5,571,014 PlayerSalary PER D. Williams$4,809,840 14.6 PF 3 Years Luke Ridnour$4,000,000 13.9 PG 2 Years Alexey Shved$2,934,610 11.8 PG 3 Years Acquiring 3 Players $11,744,450 Hollinger's Analysis: -4 Wins With this trade you have decreased this team's projected wins by 4. Minnesota Timberwolves Owed Tax -$6,956,679 Cap Room -$5,306,321 PlayerSalary PER Eric Gordon$13,668,750 15.0 SG 4 Years Acquiring 1 Player $13,668,750 Hollinger's Analysis: -8 Wins With this trade you have decreased this team's projected wins by 8. Gravy/ Ridour Shevd/ Rivers Williams/Aminu Davis/ Anderson Lopez/ Smith would ask for a pick also
