no… he left because the doctors at USC would not clear him to play… they told him he'd never play again… before/during the transfer, 3 separate doctors then cleared him to return to the field…

If he falls to 15, I think you're going to have a handful of teams regretting passing on him for years to come. I'd much rather have someone like Jones who has produced on the field than a workout warrior with "upside." Unless there is a serious medical issue, it'd be the best case scenario for the Saints. Based on talent and production, he should easily be a top 10 pick.

And sadly for the Saints, he will be a top 10 pick.

No mock is really dumb until these guys start working out for teams. Jones supposedly has concerns about an old neck injury, and inability to play the run

At this point, I think we're desperate enough for a pass rusher that i'd risk it.

See, I feel like people think this way because some of you are still looking at it from the 4-3 defense angle. We aren't really desperate for pass rushers. We have 2 very good pass rushers who just couldn't get on the field because of the type of defense we ran and the guys ahead of them being a veteran starter and a young first round pick. I'm not saying they can't use another guy to throw into the mix, but switching to a 3-4 has a lot to do with getting those 2 really good pass rushers on the field. Just switching to a 3-4 to get Junior and Tez on the field full time greatly improves the pass rush. Also, running a defense that may have Roman Harper blitzing more should improve the pressure they get on the qb. That is if Harper is still with the team next year.

We are all hoping this is the case, but honestly we really dont know. Gallete has shown more flashes than Martez, but even so, it wouldnt hurt to have all 3 on the team. Jones naturally is the best of the 3, imo.

Better question: What if he did fall that low, but we didn't take him?

I disagree with you on that. Martez is going to shine in my opinion. If they do draft a olb in round 1, I think Jr,s starting position is in jeopardy more so than Wilson. I think we go pass rusher olb or DE in round 1 only if we can sure up the LT spot, otherwise we go LT with the draft.

Currently for Jones I'd go 65% #1 to 5, 30% #6-10, and 5% lower than #10. I predict the medical concerns will be much less impacting than those that knocked DE Adrian Clayborn to #20. A immediate impact pass rusher in the NFL is right with blindside protectors as being the most valuable commodity after skilled QBs. LT or safety could be real possibilities. But we should have a firm grasp on that after free agency. Bushrod or another UFA at LT then no, not at all. Harper cut outright then a Kenny Vacarro gets a lot more likely. Until those play out it isn't worth the draft speculation IMO.
