I'm ehhhh on Hankins. I want an OLB pass rushing freak! Give me Jordan or Mingo!!! Also, I like the fact that Kansas City and Arizona need QBs and won't likely get one they want in free agency. If they take a QB, that's a player or two that falls down the board.

The more drafted earlier the better for us fo sho. But why ya say unlikely? Matt Flynn and Alex Smith will be had for not much since they'll likely be released anyway. Kevin Kolb, Matt Cassel, Matt Moore, Carson Palmer, etc all could move easily

Probably because Alex Smith is heavily linked with the Jets.

rotoworld on Smith- ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms the 49ers will attempt to trade Alex Smith before granting him his release. NFL.com and the Santa Rosa Press Democrat both reported as much last week. However, coach Jim Harbaugh insists the 49ers will "absolutely" consider Smith's wishes when deciding his future. Schefter also confirms the Browns and Chiefs as possible Smith destinations. Smith's $8.5 million 2013 salary will complicate any potential trade, while teams may not be willing to surrender more than a fourth- or fifth-round pick. ESPN New York believes Alex Smith will "probably be too rich for the Jets' blood." Smith is under contract for $8.5 million, and the Jets are already on the hook for $8.25 million to Mark Sanchez. More "cost-effective" veteran choices for the Jets include Tarvaris Jackson, Matt Flynn (if released by Seattle), and Matt Moore. It throws some cold water on the Smith-for-Darrelle Revis trade speculation. ESPN's John Clayton believes Alex Smith would make a "beeline" to the Cardinals if granted his release instead of being traded. Clayton also expects the Browns to be the "most interested" in a potential trade. Clayton appears to be expressing more his gut feeling than an actual sourced report, but both Arizona and Cleveland figure to leave no stone left unturned in their search for a quarterback. However, the weak-armed Smith is a poor fit with new Cardinals coach Bruce Arians on paper, as Arians is among the league's most ardent believers in the deep ball. ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported on NFL Live Wednesday that the trade market for Alex Smith is "limited," and there is "not a large buzz" about Smith among quarterback-needy teams. Specifically, Smith going to the Browns is a "long shot," per Mortensen. The Jets can't afford his contract, the Cardinals are the 49ers' division opponent, and the Chiefs might explore Nick Foles or Geno Smith first. Anyone who's kept tabs on Smith the past two years won't be surprised. Smith was available in 2012 free agency, and only the 49ers and Dolphins showed much interest in him

Rather roll the dice and try getting a NT in the 3rd round opposed to the 1st

I'd much rather see Williams in the third than any of the others (excluding Lotulelei, who will be long gone by our pick) at 15. If the Saints take a nt in the first I'd rather see them trade down and take Jenkins.

The 49ers don't have to trade Alex Smith since Kapernicks contract is cheap. Same with Flynn and Wilson. AND more importantly, the Seahawks and 49ers wouldn't want to trade to a division rival in Arizona. It will depend on the combine and if KC or Arizona fall in love with a QBs workout.

Beat writer Matt Barrows believes the Niners are attempting to "create the illusion" they could keep Smith in order to maintain leverage in trade talks. Smith's $8.5 million in scheduled pay is much too lofty for a clipboard holder, and keeping him would risk "locker room turmoil" if Kaepernick struggled. The 49ers will try to trade Smith. If they can't, they might just release him. LINK

A team would be dumb to consider a trade for Smith. Not worth the contract or trade bait. Wait for SF to drop his 8million dollar a$$.

What's your thoughts on Reid? I would be pissed if my team drafted him in the first round.

A couple of thoughts on Smith/Flynn vs Rookie. If Smith or Flynn are released or traded, it likely won't be until the last minute because they won't be trying to do another team any favors. And do you really want to build your team around either of these guys? Or would you rather take a chance on a rookie who will be cheaper and have more potential? If I was a GM, I guess I'd do what Seattle/49ers did and signe a veteran (Smith/Flynn) and draft a QB I loved (Kapernick/Wilson) and hedge my bets if the rookie doesn't work out. That being said, do they take that 1st round rookie or that 3rd round rookie???

They are all in on Sanchez after the soon to be fired GM extended his contract as a reward for top quality below avg play.

mid 40s range if I was guessing right now, higher if a team was pressing for need

NFP update, Lande has a few that are way off the consensus. It is big board too, not a mock, so keep that in mind. He has been a scout for 2 NFL teams so it's worth a look-
