You think that's comedy? You think laughing at retarded people is humor? That show is the absolute worst and epitomizes so much about what is wrong with our society. ETA: Zach: "I watch Tosh. That's it." Why am I not surprised.

It is a form of comedy yes. AND, its often what he says about/in regards to the funny video that makes the show. Am I saying he is as funny as Pryor, Carlin, Murphy, Cosby, Chappelle, NO. But, his show is funny and if you can't see that then I'm sorry for you.

I don't share his political views, but I do enjoy his show. I think his observational technique of pointing out ironies and hypocrisies is good for television and politics.

He does some funny stuff. Especially when he makes fun of CNN.

Never thought he was that funny and certainly don't think he's particularly intelligent.

Fast forward to now and I think he has really become more of a smug liberal. It's to the point that I can barely stand watching his interview segments on some nights.
He's been blasting Obama on drones for weeks

Tries too hard to be funny. It's laughable that so many consider him a source for news while at the same time considering themselves informed.

That's a problem, but it says more about the viewers than it does about him. He doesn't cover any news story in depth. His humor is based on the assumption that the viewers are already informed. He typically covers one topic per night. He might make fun of some idiot politician, or make fun of CNN or Fox, or even dedicate the episode to immature humor (like he did when Lance Bass came out of the closet). But he isn't a source of information by any standard.

And what aggravates me about people like Stewart is that when anyone tries to call him out on something he said, he hides behind the whole "But I'm just a comedian, don't take me seriously" shite.
This times a billion. He'll go for the throat on a crippled Tony Snow, but the second he thinks he'll lose a debate it's the "Woah now, I'm just a comedian".

Thanks for your presumption, but no. Actually, I'm thinking of when he invited Cat Stevens (or whatever name he goes by now) to his Rally to Restore Sanity, despite the fact that Stevens is a Muslim fanatic who supported the fatwa on Salman Rushdie for writing a novel. When this issue was raised, Stewart ducked it. Or the time that he brought on an atheist organization's representative on who was protesting the USPS's plans to make a postal stamp for Mother Teresa, and then mocked him repeatedly using the most elementary sarcasm, while refusing to let the guy elaborate on why Mother Teresa is an over-praised figure. So, yea, my assessment on Stewart's intelligence has nothing to do with his or my own political views, and everything to do with his demonstrated ignorance (which can't be said about Bill Maher) Try harder next time. ETA: The laugh track on Scooby-Doo elicited more genuine laughter than the audience at a Stewart show. I've never seen a comedian, or 'satirist,' have to so blatantly cue his audience into laughing
