There are quite a few past and present I really like, but I'll stick to someone in their prime today... as a combination of both attributes, Patty Griffin stands out amongst all the rest...

It's nice that Chan isn't getting too drunk to function at shows now. I'd love to see her now.

All good choices so far but unless you like music to cry in your chamomile with, ya gotta add: Pat Benetar and Mellissa Etheridge.

I've expressed my Pat fandom in many a thread. Her husband writes a lot of her stuff, I believe though. Either way she's amazing. I always post this in when she comes up: Pat Benatar- Arsenio Hall Show 1993: Everybody Lay Down & Promises In The Dark Just found this little snippet the other day... I'm not much for female leads in bands. I try and turn down most. That said here are the ones I listen to often: Janis Joplin Grace Potter Lucinda Williams Emmylou Harris Stevie Nicks I also have gotten into some of the more modern bands with chicks in them: Sleigh bells Of Monsters and Men Neon Trees (yea that's right) Tedeschi has a beautiful voice too. forgot her

Rapture saved trance music for about 5 years. Everything was going hard breakbeat then that song came out in November right when everyone was going on their 2 month winter recording break... Became a hit and vocal trance took over again for a while. Thank you IIO.

I think the first time I heard it was at Caffeine in 2002? 3 different people played it that night. The first started out just playing the vocal. Main room got real quiet. Unbelievably good.

Yeah... Released November 2001. ETA: Caffeine Afrosheen in NOLA 2002? If so... shite. We may have bumped into each other. Skin tight black pants, Leather hip boots, blonde hair pulled up, shiny gold tank, yellow lens sunglasses... Familiar?

Looking through my rave pics. It wasn't Caffeine. It was earlier in the year. Either Zoolu 8 or Freak Fest.
