Make all Congressional pay a percentage of the yearly deficit. If they balance the budget, they get zero.
If they create a surplus they get paid.
If they create deficits...they pay out of pocket some percentage.
Thoughts?

Seems very unreasonable
Maybe they could implement some baseline based on the previous year
You do better than the previous year and your salary reflects it
Of course the only problem with this is you're giving them a huge incentive to raise taxes

What pisses me off is that she calls it a job instead of a service. These people are suppose to be serving their country.

Any time you suggest cutting the pay of politicians their response is: "Well, if we didn't get paid only rich people could afford to run for office."
Duh, the politicians we have now are all rich people.

You think reducing their salaries will change anything? They all make enough in bribes to cover any losses in salary.

It's incredible how much they get paid....and even more incredible how lucrative their retirement package is. You can win a congressional seat, get kicked out after two years, and never have to work again. It's INSANE.
