re: What's the difference between a Coonass and a Redneck

I'm telling you there are migrant coonasses along the Pearl River. I've stopped in a couple of the gas station bait shops in that area and you can hear 'em talk. They're just "free range" coonasses living in pockets.

The Sabine River. That was the answer I learned in the 1970's.

People from Alabama call people from La Coonass.

Metrosexuals call everyone who doesn't agree with them a Redneck.

I realize that it's a joke but people in Lake Charles are way more like people from Texas than they are from people in Lafayette.

I noticed this too. I don't know if it's metrosexuals as much as just the younger generation period.

Almost anywhere north of St Landry Parish is where you will find rednecks.

coonasses are short and speak in some deep sounding gibberish dialect that only they can translate.
They eat roadkill and coots, kill every animal that moves.

Rednecks are country people that like cutoff shirts, loud pipes on trucks, mud and nascar events and rebel flags.

I like many of both and hate many of both.

This.

Different lifestyle, different cuisine, different beers, different music, hell even a different language.

Nothing more needs to be said.
