2012 DA14 Asteroid - Passing Earth Today

Didn't see any recent talk of this here.

Asteroid named 2012 DA14 to come closer than any other one on record to actually miss Earth

Think the government would say anything if it actually was going to hit earth?

They would have to. Amateur astronomers would figure it out pretty quickly.

I was surprised at how close it's going to get to the earth.

Only 17,000 miles out which is much closer than the Moon and within satellite orbit range.

I bet many people on here have no idea how many miles separate the Earth from the Moon.

This is just off the top of my head, but isn't it 93 million?
