Offseason topic: Greatest Onside Kick Ever (Posted on 2/13/13 at 1:07 am)
I searched Google and didnt find a thread on this so take a look at this video. Was doing the drunk watching Saints SB videos and the kick along with Paul Allen's call of Favre's int among other videos and stumbled on this. Its amazing that Casillas diving into the pile might have secured us the Super Bowl. If he doesnt do that, we might be the Falcons

Yeah at first glance it looks we were about to get fricked. Luckily Reis and Casillas scrapped for it. If not for that I don't count us out of that game, but it's a steep battle.
Can you imagine how much of a polar opposite the opinion of Payton would be had the Colts recovered that? When you think about that, it really is maybe the ballsiest call of all time considering the implications

It was the ballsiest call of all time IMO. We were down but still a one possession game which could have easily been two had we not gotten that ball. I doubt I would have been able to go through with it. Props to Sean

I just can't believe how everything went down that year... The first person I called after the super bowl was my grandfather, we had a very close relationship... I could hear him crying over the phone.. a month and a half later he died suddenly of a heart attack... The ONLY thing that comforted me was the fact that after so many years he finally got to see his saints win the super bowl
that game was bigger than football, and nothing will ever compare
