Not that I disagree that the cuts could have negative effects on the economy.
But serious question: why are automatic spending cuts the devil and automatic tax increases OK?

Here's a more serious question: Where are these ""cuts"".
Using leftist's interpretation of the term ""cuts", if we simply froze all spending at current levels -- no increase, no decrease -- it would be considered a $4 Trillion ""cut"". Sequestration is only scored at $1.2 Trillion.

Let the sequester happen, it is the only real way to cut spending. Will people lose jobs, yes, will programs get cut, yes, will our military get cut, yes. Point is if everyone suffers isn't that fair? The U.S. cannot keep spending over 1 trillion from what they take in and expect everything to pan out. Eventually the dollar will collapse and everyone suffers more than what this sequester will cause. You have to let it hit bottom and then come back up. Only way to solve this problem. Much like a drug addict.
