Just got my new motor last week & I'm looking forward to doing some fishing as soon as I can get off of this damn rig!

Fresh water has killed the trout fishing north. Will start hitting Toledo soon.

Did you blow the other one if that's a new motor? Nice rig you got there, what is it exactly?

Boat is a 2012 Majek Extreme 2200. Had a 2012 Mercury 250 Pro xs on it & sold it to buy a new 2013 motor. Nothing wrong with the other motor that I sold, only had 88 hrs on it. I sold it for what I had in it & bought a brand new one for that amount.

It's one hell of a boat. I love it. Rides good in choppy water, hauls arse & it drafts in about 10" of water.

sweet rig... diggin the power poles on the bay boat. I'm mostly a bass guy so I haven't seen them on anything other than a bass rig but it makes perfect sense.... probably get a lot of use out of them in the flats huh?

Last year, we were out in 2-3 foot seas in a family member's 24' Seacat cruising along at about 25 mph (roughly 20 miles off-shore) and one of those blew by us with ease, just riding on top of the waves. Later that afternoon, we saw the same guy, same boat out in the flats (we were in a different boat) fishing for trout. I was impressed. When I started my boat search, I looked at those and quickly decided they were waaayyyy out of my price range.

Yes I get a lot of use out of my power poles. I never really understood all the hype until I got one. 2 is definitely the way to go though. My boat is built sorta like a bass boat, when u get it up on the pad it just skips right across the waves like nothing. It's built to run fast. Not sure where u looked @, but there is only 1 dealer in Louisiana. They are built in Corpus Christi TX & they have several dealers close to the factory. I know one of the owners very well & several of the salesmen @ various dealerships. If anyone wants more info or pricing, let me know & I'll put u in touch with the right people.

Same here. One more week in Brazil then home for 28 days. Got a trip planned for Toledo to fish in the Texas Oilman Tourney and a tourney on D'Arbonne March 2nd.

The old motor (2012 Mercury 250 Pro xs) ran 70 mph wide open. Normal cruising speed is 40-45 usually. Haven't put it in the water with the new motor yet. It should be noted that I have this boat setup very poorly in terms of speed. I have 2 battery chargers (1 DC alternator charger & 1 AC onboard charger) & 3 Optima D31 series batteries mounted under the center console. I also have 2 more optima D31 series batteries mounted in the rear of the boat (1 on each side). Those are the heaviest batteries that optima makes & that's a lot of extra weight in the boat. If I swapped out all the batteries for some that weighed less & mounted all of them in the back of the boat along with the chargers, it would easily run mid 70's.

That's plenty of speed...where I fish in the marsh, you can't go faster than 35 mph due to all of the turns.
