I'm a sucker for spaghetti westerns, so Once Upon a Time in the West My favorite is the new True Grit, though.

If mini series count, I'd say Lonesome Dove by a long shot. If not, I'd say The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, followed by Ed Dorado and Man WIthout a Star. And while it's not as universially acclaimed, I always liked The Sons of Katie Elder
