As you may or may not be aware, Sweden is not a state in the United States of America. Sweden is a country in northern Europe. Unless you figured it out by now, US law does not apply here. For your information, no Swedish law is being violated. Please be assured that any further contact with us, regardless of medium, will result in a) a suit being filed for harassment b) a formal complaint lodged with the bar of your legal counsel, for sending frivolous legal threats. It is the opinion of us and our lawyers that you are ....... morons, and that you should please go sodomize yourself with retractable batons. Please also note that your e-mail and letter will be published in full on LINK / Go frick yourself. Polite as usual, anakata"

They don't steal. They host torrented files.

Nobody steals anything on that site. In order for someone to host the original file they have to buy it. Once they upload it they begin giving it away to other people who then seed the torrent.

Exactly. Stealing. They are getting something for nothing.

No, because you wouldn't have the game anymore. You paid for 1 game. If your friend now has it, you don't.

If you reproduce said game on different media, yes.

So copying my own property is theft. Got it. I can't help but laugh at this ridiculousness.

Copying and reproducing copyrighted material is theft. I realize that you don't want that to be the case, but clearly it is.

It's illegal for the same reason you can't photocopy a book you bought and sell/distribute it. They're called copyright laws.

If you copy it and give away the copies to other people, yeah, it's a type of theft. Just because computers have the capability of copying something doesn't mean it is right or legal to do so. If you copy for your own personal backups, that is one thing. But to copy something and give it away is another. You know it is wrong yet try to come up with ridiculous arguments to support your wrong behavior.

Then it's a contract violation and not theft. And the person who I gave it to is not entered into that contract.

You are arguing with an idiot, I mean a free man, he doesn't recognize andy form of intellectual property rights, he only recognizes his right and the obligation of others and the state not to oppress him.

I believe making goods non-scarce is a very moral thing. Violating a contract isn't, but that is not relevant in discussion of "IP".
