Sounds like CLM

That's the positive. The other side of the coin is the tendency to go away from what is working. No doubt CC is a proven and respected OC. Now, can he make the LSU offense run like a well oiled machine? That's all I care about.

Listen people in the past three years we went 34-6 with an SEC title, an appearance in the BCS game and a Cotton Bowl win. All of this was with an incompetent offensive direction. Cam Cameron isnt the worlds best OC but he has immense knowledge and skill for the job and he is a dramatic improvement. Add a more competent offensive strategy and better play calling while developing and utilizing our offensive talent. It's hard to improve on 34-6 but we are two or three wins away from back to back titles, so slightest improvement should have everyone excited.

I'm excited for him to develop our qbs but good god is any one else just a little nervous reading his tendency to abandon what works?? I'm seeing a rerun of Clemson in my mind right now I do think he is the one guy who will tell les to shove it if he tries to call the offense.

I'm not too worried about occasionally abandoning what works too soon. The real problem last couple years was sticking with what didn't work. IMHO

I think this is all Les has ever wanted.

Of course. Though for many, even if there is proof in the pudding it still will not matter. Their loss.

Exactly. All year long, LSU ran the ball up the gut with two or three TEs on 3rd and short and all year long people stop us. 3rd down conversion and redzone offense probably cost LSU all three losses. It was pitiful against Towson and it was pitiful against Clemson. It never got better.

Wait a minute, I thought the Rant said it was the passes instead of killing the clock. The Rant confuses.

This is the only thing I don't like in that article. Paralysis by analysis with Crowton was absolutely maddening at times.

People might say, "I don't trust a guy who has a similar philosophy to Miles."
this is really how you can separate the tards from the rest. there's nothing wrong with the philosphy. the philosphy is the same as Bama's with the personnel difference of a FB vs TE('s). how it's been executed and how it's been called has been the real problem. and that's with placing dual blame on coaches and players. what i'm hoping with the cam hire is that the execution will be more crisp and playcalling won't be a mystery in certain situations.

truth crowton was way guilty with this. remember the infamous tenn game with the extra play crowton was bringing in a 3 wr set on almost the goal line. miles/stud can be guilty of it too. clemson = throwing three times late. once again, the calls weren't insane if that first or second pass (can't remember which one) wasn't dropped. good execution makes play calling rather easy. we didn't see bama do anything special against ND, they just lined up and ran them over because they executed the hell out of their plays.

Yes. I see posts here all the time about the "playbook" this year. It wasn't that the plays were bad, it was the plays that were called in specific situations that were bad. Throwing at the ends of the TAMU and Clemson games with a lead are two examples that stick out to me.

unfortunately i do think it was an instance of stud/miles trying to out think the room. i'd bet everything i own on the fact that if they stacked the box and we ran and didn't get it, people would go ape shite on miles for being uninventive and too conservative. "they know what's coming, why don't we throw it??!!" if the past year plus has proven anything to me its that miles will never really get fair treatment here. if the offense improves people will find something else to complain about.

You do know thats the reason he got fired in December from a Super Bowl bound team? Right?

1st pass was caught. 2nd down was the boot action where Mett overthrew an open Jarvis. 3rd down got batted down. looked like a slant and Vadal missed the memo about getting his man's arms down.

i blame my recollection on the alcohol. but my point stands that plays were poorly executed. if these types of things aren't addressed or corrected then it doesn't matter what's called. alexander had a hell of a learning curve this yr though.
