They should have bashes at the P Mac for Saturday games. A little band, some food , and contest giveaways for free tickets or things like that. If you have a party they will come. Especially for big SEC games during the season.

I think the athletic dept deserves a considerable amount of criticism. The 2000,2005,2006,and 2009 teams were all very good and they didn;t get the type of boost and support they deserved. There are other issues.

LSU sold 13,000 tickets on the reg in 2009.

Johnny Jones is bringing in talent next year so the future is bright. I have made it to all of the home games and while it may not be pretty, it is always gutty and hard fought. Some more energy in the PMAC could help OUR LSU team finish strong.

My freshmen year (Final Four year) had horrible attendance until around Feb. Win and show its not a short term fluke like this year when they started undefeated after playing crap teams and people will come.

doubtful. but nonetheless they never came to the game in those numbers. Crowds came to see Dale Brown's teams because he was a great promoter. LSU did not need a big advertising budget with Dale in charge. Dale also scheduled people which certainly matters.

The athletic dept. needs to do more for this program in 2013 and beyond.

$5 uppers, $8 middle, $10 lower. And same price online vs. window. No processing fees.

If a family of 4 wants to go and purchase online, it's $80 to sit in the uppers in uncomfortable seats with no leg room. It's priced too high, period.

I doubt you could fill it on a regular basis if you gave tickets away for free. The venue has been outdated for years and desperately needs to be replaced. Until LSU gets behind its basketball teams in more than a cursory fashion, getting the community to support them is going to be tough.

This has nothing to do with it. For us to get people in the PMAC, LSU basketball has to become "popular." The easiest way to do that of course would be to eliminate the football program. The second best way is like Roger said, to put us on National TV vs marquee opponents, and to hire a marketing team worth a damn that convince locals it is the thing to do.

It's not going to become popular at current single game prices. They should also abandon having west stadium lot a parking pass lot until attendance averages 10,000

The marquee opponent thing isn't valid either. We play Kentucky every other year and the arena is 60% blue. After the 20 pt loss, we'll still have 5000 less the rest of the way.

re: How can we get more people in the PMAC in spite of our record?

Thanks so much for all the suggestions.
No I'm not employed by LSU and I am married to one of Dale's Hustlers.
I just want to see LSU basketball become a factor in Louisiana sports.

Strippers sound great, but maybe as an after-game perk?

Getting High school kids to games is an awesome idea.

Better advertising is a given, agree that LSU does a terrible job of marketing.
Love to see more high profile recruits and new players here, obviously, but was hoping that wasn't a requisite for fan attendance.

Not sure I could tolerate anything relating to NASCAR, but that's just me, and I would definitely "take one for the team" in this regard if it would bring in another 1,000 fans.

The Cane's etc., as promotions can be little extras.

OK, I'm gonna get on this - I really am. It has to start somewhere, with someone.

I get to see the kids (players I mean) in practice sometimes and to hang out with them at Tip-Off events. When you see them as regular young men, with a desire to do their best for LSU, and a wish to be supported, you'd understand my desire to make sure they get some some support .

I love your enthusiasm and hope what you do can help. Another suggestion I saw recently was to limit the amount of band noise. I don't hate the band, but I find them to be an annoyance at the games. Have some piped in music instead. I think that goes better in the PMAC than lame brass bands.

I would like nothing more than LSU hoops to be bigger than everything at LSU.

Completely agree. Way too high. Factor in Cokes, popcorn, etc and you are well over $100 for a mediocre program. Somethings got to change.

You're very wrong. I brought my inlaws in for the Florida game and witnessed this first hand. 6 people at $22 per ticket and not to mention cokes/popcorn/etc.

That is absolutely retarded to expect fans to pay that much per SEC game.

They are losing money doing this anyway, almost everyone I know buys the "cheap" seats and move down to the lower levels. I've done this every single home game this season. The price for lowers for a "big" game is laughable

They need to have better promotions like the Gold shirt game and more interesting stuff than crap like player trading cards. Scheduling better opponents in OOC would help a lot also.

Honestly LSU Basketball is just waiting for that big time match-up on National TV where we pull off an incredible win. Similar to Indiana vs UK last year, considering that game single-highhandedly brought that program back to it's former glory IMHO

They also need to not schedule their biggest OOC matchup during a thursday night Saints game.
That was pretty funny.

You can get first row uppers the last 3 years for $100 for the whole season. Great seats.

But ya oaying $5.50 a game is just too much

re: How can we get more people in the PMAC in spite of our record?

Yes but you aren't going to fill the stadium with season ticket holders for 20 games a year. You have to have the same pricing structure for those who want to come to a few games a season. You've got to make the pricing attractive to get people in the building first, then based on their experience they may buy season tickets.

And those upper seats except for the first row have no leg room for an adult. People won't want to sit in those seats 20 times a year. We are only going to play 9 SEC games and maybe 1-2 other games worth watching. The others are the football purple jersey games where it's predetermined who wins.

For those OOC games, they sell uppers for $10. They should take the $5, $8, $10 approach next year with the top class and this seasons positives to build on and see how much more attendance they pull.

you can't look at it that way, not everyone has time to invest in season tickets.
