| Michael Jordan could still average double digits at age 50? (Posted on 2/10/13 at 3:01 am)
According to Antawn Jamison, yes.
quote:
"I wouldn't doubt that in the right situation with a LeBron (James) on his team or with a Kobe (Bryant) on this team, he could get you about 10 or 11 points, come in and play 15-20 minutes," said Antawn Jamison before the Lakers played the Bobcats on Friday. "I wouldn't doubt that at all, especially if he was in shape and injuries were prevented and things of that nature."
quote:
Jordan averaged 20.0 points in 37.0 minutes per game in his 15th and final season in the league before retiring for good at age 40.
quote:
"You hear stories still to this day, especially last year, him going to the practice facility and playing 1-on-1 with the guys and still they can't stop him."
LINK ETA: Be sure to mute your computer, link automatically plays a StephenA/Bayless debate at the top of the article It's crazy to think this would be possible. But he's the GOAT and the most competitive player ever. If anyone could do it, it'd be him.

It's funny he said with someone like LeBron or Kobe LeBron, Chris Paul, Duncan, Rondo, etc Those would be the guys who could open it up and get MJ some chances. Kobe's not high on that list.

Unless he's learned to shoot the corner 3, I'm doubtful he could do it.

He would score the majority of his points from the FT line.

he'd need to make about 4-5 of those points from the free throw line, but i think he could do it

Right But then again, there isn't anything particularly jaw dropping about scoring ten points in an NBA game...

In 15-20 minutes? There are only two people in the league that play less than 20 minutes and still score more than 10 ppg and they're both Centers (Blatche and McGee). Getting 10 ppg as a role player in the NBA is pretty impressive.

I forgot about that part Yeah...I don't think he would be scoring 10+ a game in 15 minutes He would probably get dominated by just about anyone on the court. Not to mention he'd get worn out on defense in no time.

Humans age, and he wouldn't be able to average double figures in the league now without a lot of FTs and deferential treatment by other players.

Jordan could hit that fadeaway until he's 75 so yes he could still get double digits

He'd get them at the stripe. If you looked at him cross-eyed, a shooting fould would be called on you, even if you were on offense at the time.

15 minutes? He could put up 14-18 shots in 15 minutes I'm sure plus 2-4 free throws and he is there
