| Story on Isaiah Golden? (Posted on 2/9/13 at 9:53 am)
He was a hot name early on in the 2013 process. Many thought he coveted an LSU offer and was at a high position of need. Left camp with no offer, much to the surprise of many on this board. I know he signed with tamu, but did anyone ever hear specifically why LSU never offered?

Are you thinking of Ishmael Wilson? He waited for that LSU offer that never came and then committed to the Aggies. He was talked about quite a bit on this forum during last off-season.

Lots and lots of discussion on him this time last year.. when he didn't get the offer he wanted people were pretty upset.

Was completely dominated on the camp circuit especially by boutte. Also listed at 6'2 but is closer to 6'0

Sounds like a good topic for discussion on another thread. Name the top guys per recruiting cycle that people bitched the most about the LSU staff not offering. I would say it was Adam Taylor for the 2013 class. Top guy during the Les Miles tenure would be Christine Michael. I wonder who is the top shoulda/coulda guy in LSU history.

I don't recall a lot of people complaining about not offering him while he was still a recruit.

the general story was he was lazy and a trouble kid. He also had grade issues. However, he moved to Carthage for his senior year, got a new coach, and attitude. Huge changes for him as he was playing at a very high and consistent level late in the year and his grades have improved to the point that he should have no qualification issues. I know LSU (and a few others) came around late on him to see if he might reconsider but it was too late in the game. Personally of the three tackles we signed (Manning, Walker), I think Golden is the freak of the bunch.

Golden isn't a 4-3 DT to me, he's just too big. He should be on a 3-4 team as a NT. Didn't understand why he was so highly coveted, I thought Manning was way better.
