I pray those numbers are skewed but it would not surprise me.

I'd love to know what those results would have been 5 years ago..

I bet the numbers would be higher across the board if the American people actually read the white paper and understood the policy.

Your (and this board's) antipathy toward Obama is well documented. Would you like to actually discuss your objections to the policy?

The liberal viewpoint:

Denying habeas corpus to noncitizens captured on the battlefield and held on foreign soil (Guantanamo) - bad.

Targeting American citizens engaged against the United States on foreign soil without a trial - good.

Wonder what happened to these people?

Proof positive that your average partisan American doesn't give a shite about what the government does as long as "their side" is doing it.

It works both ways. "Just say no" campaign against drug use (coinciding with a draconian "war on drugs") = "Amurka, frick yeah". Healthy eating initiative in conjunction with reduced calorie lunches = "ZOMG the first lady is taking all of my freedoms."

The left would be losing its shite if Obama were a Republican. Likewise, most on this board would be oddly silent. Guys like McCain and Graham are war hawks, but at least they're consistent.

That's most of us. A few soured on Bush the latter part of his presidency. I had enough of him by 2003 but I'm not immune to blinders either.

People are just fooling themselves if they think we will ever get someone dramatically different. Most "good" presidents benefit from events beyond their control.

This is how it works:

I think a lot of those people decide what they think based on what y'all think, regardless of whether you are in the right or just being idiots.

I have mega-antipathy towards Obama and all his sycophants.

But I do not object to this policy.

My 'objection' is to the hypocrisy shown by the idiocracy on the left concerning enhanced interrogation.

We 'subjected' three of the most vile people on earth to a couple of minutes of discomfort, and in return we got intel that saved countless lives and led to the elimination of Osama Bin Ladin <= the singular 'achievement' of the Obama administration which he brandishes like a sword.

Yet, the leftists wailed to high heaven about this 'enhanced' interrogation program, while not caring one whit about just killing someone instead of interrogating them.

I fully support the drone attacks on selected people, and I am not that alarmed by collateral damage if our military remains dedicated to reducing it as much as possible. It is these animals who put their families and neighbors in peril by embedding themselves amongst them to use as a human shield. It is on them, not us.

I also fully support getting as much information as we can from the ones we capture.

The government starting a campaign against illegal substances =/= the government trying to tell you what you can feed your kids. There's a big difference.
