Those mags have been around for some time but I guess the Democrats will make them very popular now.

This mag was just designed. Technically the first fully printed AR Mag has only been around for about 2 weeks.

I did not realize these were printed mags...that's awesome! I would look into it but I have more than enough "high capacity" magazines to last a lifetime.

Black, yes. You would either have to use a special filament or have an objet printer. 'Fraid not on the camo. At least yet. Maybe in a couple of years.

Will that type of plastic take paint well?

I don't see why it wouldn't. However, the mag in the video was printed on a 90's era 3D printer using heated resin. If you were to print one it would likely be using ABS or PLA.

At the risk of sounding stupid, what makes this magazine special? It looks like a regular 30 rd mag for an AR. What features does it have to work around Cuomo's legislation?

It was printed.

The fact that you can print it from your living room make it a work around. Is Cuomo going to authorize task force to search everyone's houses for 30 Rd Mags? No, he'll go after the producers. So when the producers are the ones making it in their homes, it becomes a lot more difficult.

Like on paper? It can be made from a home computer and printer?

No I'm not. What do you mean by printed and how does that get around the restrictions. Heaven forbid I come to a message board to learn something.

Well asking if a magazine the was used to feed bullets into an M16 was made out of paper just seems to be an incredibly stupid question, but forgive my presumptuousness. This magazine was printed on a 3D printer. Yes, that can be done by connecting it to your home printer and can be printed in your living room.

It makes the restrictions unenforceable.

It is made using a special 3-D printer that uses plastic as its printing medium. It is fascinating technology.

It would have been a lot easier if you had read the thread beforehand considering I already answered the question before you asked it.

When the cost of the materials go down, these will just become throw away mags. That's how mags were initially designed for the military I believe. For the extremely small cost, people could have loaded magazines for days since the issue of the spring getting warn out goes out the window since it's for one time use. I would assume at some point the materials would cost under a dollar, no?

I don't presume to know how far costs will go down.
