Saint Street Inn in Lafayette... thoughts?

For those who have been for dinner, what did you think?

The menu looks awesome.

The menu is good.

Get ready for slow service if you go.

Never eaten dinner there, but I do go for lunch quite often.

Everything is good except the veggie burger.

We enjoyed almost everything we had there. Went a couple months ago. Wasn't a fan of thier tempura battered veggies.

To start, the dockside plate and pork tacos were money.

For the shameless soup fiend, they have interesting soups-of-the-day.

I'm friends with one of the owners. I ate there for brunch during Festival International and it was really good. I keep on meaning to go back there.

Anyone know if they usually go on a wait on weekend nights?

You mean waiting to be seated I take it? We went at like 630ish and there were more empty tables than full ones.

I think it was a Saturday. I've only been once though so that's a small sample size.

Dinner is good but their lunch is way better, with all the good sandwiches they have. The dinner is good, but you really don't get much for what you paid for. I remember we had a ravioli entree that had only 6 or 7 raviolis. Definitely not worth the $20. It's also expensive for the atmosphere, as the place is very casual. High end prices with low end atmosphere is not a good combo.

I would definitely (and I do) go there for lunch, but I would go to Jolie's for dinner. Same price, better service, nicer atmosphere, more bang for your buck.

I'm not sure about the slow floor service because I sat at the bar when I was there and had no issues. I happened to stumble upon this place while meandering around, waiting for some sort of parade to begin. I had an inkling for an Olde Tyme Po-boy, and walked past this place which is close by. What stood out is a sign that read "Farm to Table" which caught my eye so I decided to check it out.

I had a few of the apps and chatted with bartender, and left feeling like it would be a place to return to. They had just opened recently before my visit, so I'm curious to see how they've evolved since then.

The food is worth a try. Check em out.

It has its place. I don't always want to wear slacks to have a nice meal.

The effectively take a scoop of rice and gumbo and strain out the roux. The ball it up and fry it.

It Like a boudin ball...less flavor though.

Y'all think I will have trouble getting to this place on Friday evening around 615? It's almost on the parade route at about the 2/3 point and the parade starts at 630.

Will you be on that side of Johnston already? Something to consider. Plus, there is very little parking at the Saint Street Inn, so I'm guessing that will play into it.
