Thanks hungryone, I think I will try Mena's Palace. Never heard of it before and the menu looks pretty good. I'll let you you know next week what I think about the food. Since you recommended it is there an item or two on the menu that stand out above the rest? TIA

To be fair, most places in the FQ are eaten at by tourists. And, we have no idea where you've already eaten or what you've heard of. Glad you have reservations for other places. Tough time to try for those for Saturday.
Brennan's is about as touristy and overpriced as they come. If you're around the Monteleone and haven't been there, drop in the Carousel Bar for a milk punch. They're good there.
I wasn't joking about the Commerce. The RB poboys are good. You could try Sylvain.

GG; thanks for your input and I agree Brennan's is touristy and trendy as well as Luke, that's why I was asking for something not trendy or touristy. As I replied just before your last post I think I'm going to try Mena's and I will post back my thoughts on it next week.
I have had a couple drinks at the Carousel Bar at night but never thought about a milk punch at that time. I will make an effort to try one from there to compare.
Thank you for giving positive feed back and information.
Oh yeah, since it is Mardis Gras time, Hail Endymion and NO rain.
