Does the Rooney rule only apply to head coaching positions? I think so.
Anyway, I believe this Grantham guy has a real shot. They wouldn't waste his time if they were set on going with Ryan. I know, due diligence, but it's not like the guy has nothing to do.

No, but that's not really the point. We could be better than last year but still not good enough to get past some of the tougher teams. This is a very important hire, because if we make the wrong one, we set ourselves back even farther and waste the years Brees has left.
