| Gay Marriage on the verge of becoming legal in France and England (Posted on 2/5/13 at 5:57 pm)
LINK Is the US next? It speaks volumes that 2 of the worlds greatest powers are about to both legalize it around the same time. This is just another slap in the face to our Congress who cannot seem to ever do anything productive. These measures in France and England are happening through the national legislatures but here in America we always have to wait for the Supreme Court to handle it.

We've got bigger problems to worry about than gay marriage. If France and Britain want to prioritize that then that's their problem.

Lol passing one piece of legislation is "prioritizing" it? How many white people said the same thing during the civil rights era? We've got bigger problems than letting black people to ride the front of a bus? Easy to use that argument when it doesnt affect you whatsoever.

Yeah things like "rights" and people's "lives", that's too small an order for our leaders.

Why is this world fricked? Please explain how expanding civil rights is a bad thing?

Even so, how is passing a bill not possible even with other things on the table? Do we really have that low of standards for our elected leaders that they can only focus on one big issue at a time? This argument is always brought up anytime something is going on that people dont agree with. Its an ignorant statement that "theres more important things to focus on." Congress deals with tons of different issues every single day that we dont even hear about. Only the interesting ones make the news.

Well we do have bigger problems. I'm not against it, I just don't care about it. If we get our other shite straight then I'm all for approaching the issue. Yes, I do have low standards for congress. Until we get a plan for where we are going fiscally, I would rather not approach it. The economy effects everyone.
