How do you have a fair trial for an a-hole denned up in an Afghan cave. I said nothing about domestic assassinations. Show me an American running around with known terrorists playing jihadist and I'd have no problem taking him out. Are you not concerned that the terrorist we do take out don't get a fair trial/ either? What does the right to bear arms have to do with this question? Or whether or not I can defend my home? Question: how many of you would have had the same position if GW Bush were doing this? Playing Devil's advocate here. I still say we have to trust the CIA to make these decisions on the battlefield. Domestically it's an entirely different situation and the 2nd addresses that.

The constitution allows for trials in absentia for treason.

So what is it about the drones specifically that is objected to? Is it the inability for the target to surrender and have a trial? What is the acceptable alternative? Ground raids with the cooperation of the local government? Would this be satisfactory?

Who decides if an American citizen is running Al Quida?
Well, if he's in an Al Qeida camp in Afghanistan I'd say that's prima facie evidence that he's "running" with Al Qeida. What's the difference between a drone strike and a conventional air strike? Seems to me the drone is the more surgical of the two, causing less collateral damage.

Well for one, they routinely kill a shitload more people than thte intended target. Whole buncha kids have been droned. But they're brown kids....they don't actually count.

Have you seen the list of "potential domestic terrorists" put out by DHS. Most conservative fall into at least one the categories.

So you don't think the CIA has helped protect us from terrorist attacks since 9-11?
