I just want to get some clarity on the situation....water boarding is inhumane and illegal........murder/assassination of American citizens without due process=legal.

Yes and Carney says it is ethical and wise, from this clown car of idiots? This country runs inspite of it's leadership.

It's starting. In the next few years, we will see shite getting real on american soil. DHS buying billions of rounds of ammo. Leagalized drone strikes on American Citizens. Indefinite incarceration without trial for "terrorists." Military exercises in major american cities. Obamacare is the catalyst. People will take to the streets.

If an American citizen is running with Al Queda, I got absolutely NO problem taking his a$$ out, drone or bullet.

Who decides if an American citizen is running Al Quida? If you are willing to give up the right to a fair trail of American citizens are you also prepared to give up free speech? religion? assembly? What about the right to bear arms which coincidentally, this administration is trying to limit. What about the right to be secure in your own home? Should the government just be able to come into your house with out a warrant because some "high ranking official" thinks you could have something to hide? Can you not see the obvious issues this raises? "People willing to trade their freedom for temporary security deserve neither and will lose both". - Ben Franklin

I understand your point....I'm not defending what that guy did and he deserved to die. BUT, if the administration gets to define "who are the terrorist" we are in trouble. Didn't DHS publish a list of "domestic terrorist groups recently and it included several right wing conservative groups as well as the "Tea Party"?

Also: Returning Veterans Gun Owners Gun Advocates Others too. Guess that's why they need billions of rounds of hollow point ammunition.

Not hard at all to see how this can eventually be used on political enemies. Right wing gun toting anti government extremist better watch out.

I agree if they are proven in a court of law, as our constitution states that a citizen has a right to... Now its completely different if they are fighting on the front lines, actually shooting at American soldiers, but that is not what Carney is talking about.

The scariest part is that normal citizens can read this and hear this and easily make the logical jump to "used against domestic citizens for any reason". I am not a political junkie, but I can see the writing on the wall

The power over life and death in the manner of an absolute monarch, Czar, tyrant, dictator based upon the whims of another mortal. What could possibly go wrong with this idea? Given these powers I won't call Oboe a Nazi, I will call him the resurrection of Adolph Hitler himself. Let the fun begin, as there are no perils to be ventured into at all.

Drones are currently being used in the US. Hypothetical question regarding this admins use of drone strikes on American citizens, could they take out an "American terrorist cell" in the Rocky Mountains without due process?

Yep. And when the next Republican administration takes over, the leftist, socialist, anti-government, extremist better watch out. Or do you think the (R) President would dutifully hand back power that it inherited...?

Thats what I asked in my thread from earlier this morning... What stops them from saying that a "Far Right Wing" fringe group is not a threat to the US Slippery Slope

How many times in his first four years did leftists say he should rule with the iron fist of a tyrant?
