DUNNO why my knee hurts man, I only run a thousand miles a week? Why would it hurt? And to the person who said I a meat head, not quite. I am feeling pretty fricking awesome tonight though. Sorry I'm not into burning calories inefficiently and I don't like looking like a weakling. And how the hell is running long distance manly? Sprints yes, long distance.....no, not quite. Hang on going to run a hundred miles so I can burn a thousand calories.

Casty and Pedro there is a LOPA 5K in Thibodaux first weekend of March. After training for a full, running 3-4 miles is weak

I've run close to 5,000 miles the last two years and my knees are no worse off than yours. I've doubled my dead lift in that time frame as well. I also don't have to worry about getting fat and calling it "gaining" and then doing some crazy diet to "cut"

You have no clue.

The last sentence was sarcasm but it is a very inefficient way to burn calories. And congrats on no knee problems, one of the few. And I wouldn't call leangains or keto crazy diets at all.

I'm so tired of hearing this shite. Running doesnt mean youll have knee problems if you do it that right way. Theres a 65 year old guy around where I live that's ran his whole life that's in perfect physical shape.

I'm actually using Leangains right now but somewhat modified to allow for some extra carbs.

It really comes down to form. With proper form you are able to run more with less injuries. Thus, people who run a lot tend to also have good form. I didn't get to 2,000+ miles a year without overhauling my form.

Jealous? Yea I wanna have 12" arms haha gtfo with that. Let me ask you, how does it feel to know that if somebody attacks you or your family the only thing you can do is run because you are frail and weak? But hey I bet the attacker can't run a hundred miles like you huh?

I wouldn't go as far as to say running is for pussies. It has it's place. I like doing a nice brisk 800m or maybe even a full mile to warm-up. However, outside of getting you lose and the blood pumping, it really is a terrible way to burn calories. To start, most people in the States run with horrible form (major heel striking) and this puts an insane pounding on your joints. If running correctly, there's very little injury risk but most don't and thus get injured. Even if you don't get injured things like sprints, box jumps or any sort of high intensity interval/circuit training is a hundred times more effective from a cardio standpoint. Now if you're one of those guys who just likes putting the headphones on and getting a good hour outside then go for it. My dad does this everyday. He's not trying to look like a bodybuilder, he just loves running. However, if you're solely doing it from a workout perspective it's highly flawed. Also, never run predominantly on treadmills. You negate half of the benefits of running and are much more likely to get injured. If you don't like running outside or if it's too hot go for an elliptical, a bike, or a rower before the treadmill.

A lot of runners have knee and back problems. You can be tired of hearing it all you want and talk about the old guy you know but most runners have a lot of injuries.
