My parents have 2 Hound/Rottweiler Mix Dogs and they have killed 3 fill grown coons in the last year.

I used to have a Jack Russell that was a mean bitch. She killed a coon once, along with several possums, birds, a poodle, and some squirrels. We had to eventually get rid of her bc she nipped at a kid getting off the school bus. Didn't actually bite him, but she was too much of a liability. She was mean though, I will never forget the time she had a full grown German Sheppard cornered and shaking.
We gave her to a guy who used packs of Jack Russells to hunt wild boars. Last I heard he got rid of her bc she fought the other dogs too much.

I had a mountain cur back when I was in high school and he'd kill a coon in a hurry. He'd either crush it's head or chest. Now he did get his head cut up pretty bad a few times but after the first coon he had an encounter with the rest never made it passed him.

I've heard several people say a jack russell is about the toughest pound for pound dog you'll find.

Vicious little fricks. Terriers are mean dogs in general. They are bred that way. That is why it is not a good idea to have em around small children.
