What's your Carry Ammo, Brand and Model?

My wife accidently shot all of my JHPs last weekend thinking they were practice rounds, so i'm out. I've been using Fed HydraShoks for a while but I'm probably going to be switching. That is, when some become available in 9mm.

I've been watching a bunch of Ballistic testing on Youtube and I really like the Hornady Critical Duty.

Can the OB recommend some other choices of ammo to try out? And what do you carry today?

Does the load push the bullet fast enough to take advantage of the HydraShock's properties?

This is probably my next choice, but what's the benefit of the lighter lead?

Good question, I don't know. I carry it just in case it does.

I've seen articles that say shorter barrels maintain velocity of lighter loads better than the heavier grained bullets, and the Shield is a pretty short barrel.

Then I watched tnoutdoors9 and his video on the 115g GD, and then I didnt care anymore, I would shoot that thing out of my .45 if I could

Thanks, Not a bad price at all. I would rather run a few boxes to ensure feeding, etc. but there aren't many choices out there at the moment so i might have to jump on this.

If it's for a carry gun, stick w Critical Defense.
Crit Duty is designed for law enforcement and full size guns and looks like it has good chances of over penetrating. It is designed to penetrate barriers such as glass, sheet metal, plywood, etc.

In addition, Critical DUTY® loads are “full power loads” designed to function full-size handgun slides. Although designed to work flawlessly in ALL handguns, these loads are NOT optimized for short barreled, concealed carry style handguns; they will deliver standard recoil during firing.

I wouldn't worry so much about that in a truck or carry gun. And I'm going to get away from using Critical Defense in my guns now as I don't want to carry 115gr bullets anymore.
