Google Dallas Super Bowl and see how well the media liked the sub-freezing temperatures. Might as well loop up the 1981 season (1982) Super Bowl in Detroit while your at it.
the games where still inside, like the other cold weather places. Now time for something new.

went to a game in Cleveland once, not sure what the temp was but it was so cold the foam on our draft beers was icing up. It started snowing around the second qtr. The ref made a bad call in the endzone and a bunch of Cleveland fans pelted him with snowballs, cops were scrambling around, good times

Have you ever been to the stadium in NY? It's in the middle of nowhere. Sucks as a location since you have to take a 30 minute bus ride (much longer with Super Bowl traffic) to get there. Just terrible. And then you have to sit in terrible traffic on the way back.

News to you, the Sun Belt has been gaining population while the MW and NE has been losing it for 3 decades now At least 4 of the cold weather cities have domes. There have been ice storms in Dallas and Atlanta during SB's before, those games would have been disasters if they were outdoors.

weren't a lot of media and fans bitching about the Indy Superbowl a few years back? basically fanfare before the game was non existent due to the weather? (I could be remembering wrong)

Dallas in 2011. Fat arse sportswriters like Peter King bitched nonstop about the cold weather.

the problem in dallas was that it was colder than expected. i think with the expectations set (it will be cold), there will be a lot less bitching

Of course, which is why New Orleans is the best host city. I'm sure a lot of northerners want to see a game in a really cold environment, and as a football fan, it doesn't bother me much. In fact, I'd like to see a college national title game up there to let one of the northern teams host an SEC team in their own climate. But it doesn't change the fact that the weather up there sucks during the winter especially compared to New Orleans, Miami, San Diego, etc. And for a visitor going to the Super Bowl as part of a vacation, weather is very important.

Flacco, who just so happens to be a New Jersey native, said it was a terrible idea to have the game up there next year.

you are right...I am confusing that and the SuperBowl Indy won vs Chicago with all of the rain in Miami too much sports jumbled up in my brain

It took me an hour and a half to get back to my hotel from a half full USC-Syracuse game there this fall. Can't imagine why they haven't built a subway line out there. Seems crazy. One of the most lifeless, souless stadiums I've ever been in also. Not a fan.

They have had SB in cold weather cities before. The cold during the week is not the concern. If the weather affects the game itself it will be an issue.

Not many, if any, better vacation spots than New York City
