With BoA and Charlotte's position as a financial sector town I'd go with the Charlotte Bailouts.

Kittyhawk is on the complete opposite side of the state. I assume the Wright Bros. is the inspiration for that. I'm not aware of there being any airlines based in Charlotte or the area being a manufacturing base for aviation.

It is still in North Carolina. I don't think the rest of the State would mind.

They wanted to do this but the NBA nixed it. They don't want to open the pandora's box of corporate naming of pro sports teams and I couldn't agree more.

What's wrong with OKC Thunder? OK is "fairly" well known for storms I'd say.

Thunder need to change their ugly arse logo, not their name.

The storms here are ridiculous.

Trust me, before I moved to Oklahoma I thought the OKC Thunder was a boring, generic name for an NBA team. After living here, I've realized that the thunder during storms here are unlike the thunder in most other places. It's a legit name for this area, no doubt.
