it's not silly. it's sad. most super religious people follow the GOP just as blindly and are just as sad i don't support the DEMs or GOP. i'm objective. i don't think most people can articulate why they vote for who they vote for. but since we're talking about black people and the Democratic vote specifically, i'll say i think that it's completely sad that they blindly vote DEM i mean frick the DEM platform is typically against the social beliefs of black voters even, but this is ignored

I said the party that is more likely to argue racism is dead (which I believe to be the GOP, if you disagree that is fine), and that if this is representative of the party at large. Link me to where I stated it was. Sorry you read into whats not there, I can't help you with that.

You can't garner support for minority groups who have been effectively separated by their paranoia unless you pander directly to them. This is an unfortunate fact the GOP has failed to capitalize upon. You can't promise things for the good of humanity, you have to promise goodies to black folk, gay folk and women folk..directly. Just the way it is.
Maybe this is true. Or maybe it is because the perception-at-large of the GOP when it comes to its social view on race sucks.

You act as if minorities have been voting Democrat since forever?
they've been voting DEM since the 60s and never looked back they see the GOP as racists even though Democratic leaders in the south were against the civil rights movement they ignore their largely conservative social beliefs (that align with the GOP) to vote DEM the DEMs have mastered the art of framing issues and creating absurd commentary of their enemies. their voting bloc is much more single issue and this hurts the GOP, b/c if you can't get a generic GOP candidate, GOP voters will just stay home in large numbers

Gotcha. You claim something that isn't true, so you throw out the anecdotal personal experience. You clearly stated that it was a widespread belief expressed here that racism is dead, and I have never once seen this posted. It will always exist, but isn't nearly as widespread (unless you change the definition, as you have) as many paranoid people believe.

i argue it's based on 2 things 1. the DEMs don't really have a set of core beliefs. they shift and change as it suits each election 2. the DEMs are much better at framing issues, and the DEM-majority media works with them in order to do this i'll give you a great example from 2012. Romney did everything he could to ignore social issues in the election. he was running on economics and he was pretty vanilla on his social stances. what wins the DEMs the election? their framing of social issues (mainly targeted at women) and allegations that Romney basically wanted to hurt women (when he never did) i'll give you another great example from 2012. Romney was the guy who always came down on both sides of the issue and this was his label by the DEMs/media. so Obama goes back on gay marriage, and instead of being thrown in the fire like Romney was, he was allowed to claim he "evolved"

that is ONLY due to circumstance of the time when slavery became seen as wrong, internationally. at that time we were the country that required the most slaves due to our nation's output. it's just a matter of circumstance europe exported their slaves to the US to benefit europe, and then got self-rigteous about slavery while enjoying the fruits of slavery's industry in the US and Carribean. they don't have the legacy of slavery b/c there weren't that many slaves left in Europe by the time we outlawed it this set of circumstances isn't our fault
No sure what you're saying here. We have more "slavery legacy" problems because we imported more slaves, bred more slaves, and continued the institution longer than Europe--but it's not our fault because we needed it more?

kids born to non-citizens in Germany (often Turks)are not given full citizenship like they are in America. how is that not a jim crow law? they're discriminated against via national law
That's not a Jim Crow law. Jus Soli is the American way of doing things, but it's by no means the only just or humane way of granting citizenship.

And there is some truth to this, I'm not going to lie about that. With social pressures and thinks of that nature, too often if you are black you are "expected" to vote Democrat, regardless of what is best for you or why you are doing so. I think that is completely wrong. At the same time, there are alot of people who go to the polls and vote Dem, and I don't think it is fair to say that any more of them "blindly" follow democratic party and have no clue why when compared to those people who "blindly" follow the GOP. Imo, they probably cancel out.

Divide the population, and exploit fears for the sake of the vote. It's what politicians do. Dems figured this out decades ago and have mastered it. Republicans failed to see that this is a special interest world with specific needs and one size doesn't fit all anymore.

no. EUROPE needed it more. who do you think was buying our products abroad? without their demand for our goods, we wouldn't have had slavery. they would have had more slavery, and later, and their societal movement would not have occurred. it's kind of shitty for them to look down on us while buying the products made available due to slaves

So you think intentional racism is dead, but how about prejudice ideologies, subconscious discrimination, etc? They all impact race relations.
Prejudice is a vital part of evolution. If a species has no prejudice based on past experience it will go extinct. Having the conciousness to recognize one's prejudice and the ability to overcome it is what makes us human.

Then you should know you are comparing apples and oranges. The fact a handful of Blacks may not suffer from de jure segregation doesn't mean any European nation wants a substantial number of Blacks in their midst and if there were such a group they would have had a better history.
I don't doubt that. All societies will tolerate minorities in small numbers. As the numbers go up, so does the resentment. It's why Iranian Jews aren't mistreated. But people being mistreated don't care about they why.

sure, but at a 90%+ rate? it's hard to find/create any group that will vote for a party at that rate.

You really need to stop paraphrasing (poorly) what I say and quote me. I said it is "often" stated. Not that it is a widespread belief by everybody on here.
