| Every one of the main claims made for Obamacare is turning out to be false (Posted on 2/1/13 at 11:37 am)
This article attacks many of the arguments laid out in defense of ACA during the debate, specifically: -lower healthcare costs -smaller deficits -preservation of existing insurance -increased productivity Can anyone pick apart the criticisms in this article? WSJ

The obvious question is where was this in depth analysis prior to the passage of the bill? Oh that's right, we had to pass to see what was in it. This shite should be repealed but now it's too late; the liberal Dems have fricked us again and we are supposed to be happy about it. Next on the liberal agenda: gun control legislation and amnesty for illegal immigrants.

Somehow it was believed the entirety of government history in regards to entitlement programs was going to be completely different with healthcare. Ignore the fact that Medicare and Medicaid was already out there as models, they were gonna get this one right. Just as soon settle in. We will all get to know each other better in the lines we are going to be waiting in together.

Stopped reading here:
quote:
• Lower health-care costs. One key talking point for ObamaCare was that it would reduce the cost of insurance, especially for non-group insurance. The president, citing the work of several health-policy experts, claimed that improved care coordination, investments in information technology, and more efficient marketing through exchanges would save the typical family $2,500 per year. That was then. Now, even advocates for the law acknowledge that premiums are going up.
Are they going up more than they would have without ACA? They aren't comparing ACA future costs with the future costs, they're comparing them to past and present costs. IOW, will the ACA cost less than PROJECTED costs would have otherwise? That doesn't seem to be addressed. And when that omission occurs, my spidey sense tells me to look for an agenda.

Why do I have a sick feeling that those union members will receive subsidies?

I haven't read the article yet but to me the biggest false claim was, "it's not a tax".

And promised lower health care costs apparently meant higher but not as high.

My only hope is that this shite goes away, eventually, as did prohibition. Might take a few years but hopefully voters will tire of the bulge, Obamacare, being shoved up their arse and then we will do away with it with some politicians with guts. I won't hold my breath though.

Lets look at this from a common sense standpoint. Remove limits on insurance payout. Add another 30 million people to the health system. Insure kids till 26. Allow people to get insurance at anytime regardless of preexisting conditions Yea, the increases that are being seen is from normal yearly increases...
