Probably shouldn't bring up the often harsher treated and cheaper White Slaves that were here huh?

Martin goes on to explain that for some reason, the Irish slaves are often remembered as ‘indentured servants.’ However, in most cases during the 17th and 18th centuries, they were no more than “human cattle.”
“...the African slave trade was just beginning during this same period,” writes Martin. “It is well recorded that African slaves, not tainted with the stain of the hated Catholic theology and more expensive to purchase, were often treated far better than their Irish counterparts.”
During the late 1600s, writes Martin, African slaves were far more expensive than their Irish counterparts - Africans would sell for around 50 sterling while Irish were often no more than 5 sterling.
Further, the treatment of Irish slaves was thought to be more cruel than that of African slaves. If an Irish slave was beaten by their owner, it wasn’t considered to be a crime.

Oooh, that gives me an idea. I'd like for hospitals to have 2 different waiting rooms. One labeled: "Medicare/Medicaid" The other labeled "People with Insurance." The latter group would get treated faster and with the best doctors.
We could do the same thing with Grocery Check Outs. One labeled "For food stamps" the other "Those paying Cash."

Some, not the majority. I guarantee the bitch that wrote this divisive, inflammatory blog didn't. Those parents you speak of seem to want to continue the pain through their children.
No need to perpetuate the evils and mistakes of mankind into the future, lest you perpetuate the feelings. Unless, of course, you have some sort of agenda for doing so.

Yeah, like protecting your children.
It's not pretty, but blacks can generalize about whites too - like how you can't trust them because they'll turn on you every time. It's not like every generation is born in some societal vacuum.
There's a 400 year history of abuse towards blacks, you're not going to just start over fresh in 1965 like nothing happened. There's a lot of distrust still - on BOTH sides. And the government is NOT helping to solve the problem.

No.
My position is as follows:
Bad things happened. The feelings that these bad things created still exist. We should want these feelings to go away as quickly as possible. These feelings of mistrust are not good for America.
Blogs like these and parents who tell their kids to "not trust whitey" continue this. I'm not saying there aren't people who have a legit mistrust... I'm saying that spreading the mistrust is bad. I really don't see how someone can disagree with this.
