Bell, a mother of three who heads a 15-member congregation, later called Welch’s manager to complain that her snide note was publicized, ultimately resulting in the waitress' firing.
“[It was] a lapse in my character and judgment,” Bell told the Smoking Gun. “My heart is really broken … I’ve brought embarrassment to my church and ministry.”
Way to turn the other cheek, you cheap frick.
She's ashamed for bringing embarrassment to HER ministry...note the lack of compassion for the person who was fired.
And why should she complain about the words she wrote on the check being published if she was comfortable enough to say/write privately to her server?
I really hate people like this. (Yes, I waited tables)

Her ministry is a 15-member congregation, 
She probably is self-ordained for income tax purposes.
Does she give the 10% to herself or directly to God?

Not the first time a waiter/tress got fired for publicizing a tip. I recall a similar situation when a waitress uploaded a tip from p. manning for some ridiculous amount. Not sure how this is news, seems only like a way to bash religion.

There is a special place in Hell for sanctimonious finger-waggers that go all theological on waitresses as justification for their pathetic undertipping. It's right between where they put the women who don't know how to merge onto the interstate properly and people who don't return phone calls.

If it is company policy to have an 18% gratuity added on to tables larger than 8 patrons, and it is usually printed on the menus, why didn't applebees call the police? Bell technically check skipped. Arrest her ass.
