I had to visit a Gulfport client today, so I swung by my place and sat in the prop-up after three. My first buck of the year came by at dusk, a basket 8 point, so I nailed him. In my neck of the guvmint woods, nobody worries about if they'd make a goodun next year. I saw a buck and a doe all season and shot both of them.
I wonder what it's like hunting where there are plenty deer?

I know what you're getting at, but last year I did not kill a deer near that land, passed on six deer there because I had venison already, and this year I see two deer.
It's a small patch surrounded by heavily hounded public land in southeast MS.
I like the challenge of hunting in a tough place and i like the convinence of having a camp two hours away. But Next year I may want to do a couple hunts on some primo land by the river just to see what it's like.

I was on my 40. It's surrounded by Desoto NF in Perry County.
There are still 2 weeks of Primitive hunting left in the SE zone, but 2 is plenty for me. It's time for super bowl and Mardi Gras!

These are my first photos posted on TD, so if I did it wrong, too bad.
The first one is yesterday's deer posing with the 44 mag.
This is The Shack. This photo is from a couple years ago. The gun wears a scope now.
Edit to say those blue boxes pissed me off! Help?
