Hitler says revolvers don't need magazines.

Revolvers have an incredible record of reliability. A "myth", would be that revolvers "never" fail, and, of course, all weapons and other machines (even Toyota engines) have mechanical failures, no matter how well built and maintained. The goal of the pistol refinements are precisely to approach the sort of reliability enjoyed by revolvers - the standard Sig and Glock designs, which were refinements on Browning's proven action, in particular, were responses to the 'finickiness' and questionable reliability of early 20th century pistols.

It has little to do with pressure, velocity, etc. You wouldn't want to cycle a round as long as a .500 S&W through a semi-auto. Yes, there is the Automag that shot .44 Magnum, but they were known to never cycle correctly. The slide would have to move back too far and the gun would not cycle correctly. It's also not as much as revolvers being more reliable to shoot as much as being easier to fix a malfunction. If a double action revolver doesn't fire, simple pull the trigger and the cylinder rotates to the next round. If a semi doesn't fire, it's TRB - TAP, RACK, BANG! .44 Mag, .500 S&W,9mm, 5.56 Notice how much longer the revolver cartridges are

That's only 33mm long .500 S&W is 57mm long I didn't say that it couldn't be done. The recoil operation is very finicky with larger cartridge lengths. The recoil spring for a semi auto would have to be huge to run those rounds. The magazine would also be huge resulting in a very large grip. The only reason why AR and AK pistols work is that the magazine is forward of the grip.

EDIT: Just researched it a bit - it isn't recommended. But I would probably do it since it's so much cheaper.

Generally I'm more accurate with a revolver, though my 1911 is very impressive S&W stainless magnums are beautiful

They definitely are not interchangeable. A .22lr has a 0.22" case diameter. A .22mag has a larger case diameter and its longer.

Yea thats why the Ruger single six comes with two cylinders for .22lr and mag. Personally I like revolvers for a few reasons. 1. Snubbies make great concealed carry pieces, esp j frames. 2. Reliable 3. Great looking firearms. Other than 1911s, semi autos are pretty ugly handguns. Most revolvers are pretty nice looking.
