Ok so my friend posted this article on Facebook and I went and read it. Nowhere in the bill, seen here, does it say the word gay or homosexual or in anyway says you have to out gays.

Parents or legal guardians of students who receive such counseling shall be notified as soon as practicable that such counseling has occurred.
In addition to requiring school officials to out students to their parents, the legislation also appears to endorse so-called conversion therapy (“counseling” in the bill’s nomenclature), in which psychologists and psychiatrists (not to mention would-be Republican presidential nominees) try to change the recipients sexual orientation.
So how/where does one get that this bill is anti-gay at all? I'm very confused by this.

well here is the deal i am not sure if this will fly but you have to consider the source its salon they are as far left as it gets they are pretty much a propaganda rag for the administration and george soros so i would take what they have to say with a grain of salt they could be lying kind of like this liar i used to know name dewayne he lied all the time and no one took him seriously anymore one time he rode his bike into a garage and racked himself and his dad got pissed at him when he lied about how he did it like my uncle used to say "if it aint sound right, it aint got no bite"

If you would take a few seconds to Google you would see that this is EXACTLY what this bill does. If a teacher finds out a kid is gay they have to tell the parents. Wonder how many more homeless gay kids this will result in?? Gay kids make up to 40% of all the homeless kids in this country.

That's not too broad, huh?
But no, you're not going to see legislation that reads:
"A school counselor, nurse, principal or assistant principal from counseling a student who is engaging in, or who may be at risk of engaging in, teh gheys. Parents or legal guardians of students who receive such counseling shall be notified as soon as practicable that such counseling has occurred."

if u are going to quote something like that 40% stat of homeless kids which sounds ridiculous to begin with but if you are going to quote it you are going to need a link otherwise its probably made up could you imagine this board if people just made up shite without backing it up this place would be mayhem and not worth going to so we are going to need to see a link or else people will just think you are exagerrating like my old uncle used to say "if it seems like it stinks, ask for some links"

I'm not going to argue the original intent of the bill because I have no idea.
But the words written here could be interpreted as any risky behavior - including regular old heterosexual sex by kids who are too young to be having it. Do you want to deal with a pregnant 12-year-old?

Not to mention that teens in most states can seek counseling without parental consent. Therapists aren't going to risk their license and their livelihood over something like this. I would talk to my teen clients about discussing things with their parents and would be there with them if they wanted but I would NEVER make a teen tell their parents anything nor would I tell them something behind their back. Duty to warn is, of course, an exception.

This reminds me of the bogus article last year that was talking about legislation with some charter schools discriminating against gays and hindus or some other made up nonsense that wasn't anywhere in the bill.

people who look for discrimination in everything are going to find it everywhere they look. And some yahoo saying this is how it SHOULD be is in no way stating it IS or WILL BE.
