1. Im sure if either was immediately adjacent to us we would have moved in, or if France had done anything in the war they may have taken some land.
2. We took a lot of land from Spain and Mexico. and made it into a number of states.

I am waiting on all the reparation demands from the U.N. for the money we owe Mexicans for lost lands and resources in Southwestern U.S.

And why exactly would a small country, completely surrounded by numerous countries vowing to wipe it off the map, populated by millions of hate filled people, attack the Arabs? Knowing they had no practical help whatsoever from anywhere else? If you are standing alone, surrounded by 5-6 thugs,knowing they want kill you as violently as possible do you just stand there, helplessly? or do you act......in self defense first? How bout the earlier wars, where Isreal was attacked first?? The Arabian nations want Palestine to stay as it is, despite have millions & millions of dollars to allevate all the suffering of their FELLOW Arabs, as it remains a natural feeding ground for the militants to recruit from.

Force won't be needed if an American President puts his foot down. Israel had no intention of giving back the Sinai in 1956 until Ike gave them a "leave or else" ultimatum.

Great point. When will the U.N. demand us to give it back to whoever last ruled it then demand them to give it back to the rulers before them then the rulers before them? No, because World War I was SUPPOSED to teach us that harsh punitive measures taken by the victors is not really a good solution.
SEE: Versailles, Treaty of vis-a-vis Wilson's 14 points.
Just because you think you're right, and justified, and militarily superior to your 'adversdary', doesn't mean that things will turn out well for you if you treat them harshly.

Hawaiians are full-fledged American citizens with all the right that folks on the mainland have. As matter of fact, we have to have one in the White House right now. When is Israel even going to grant citizenship the Palestinians, much less elect one of them Prime Minister?

Of all the shitty places American tax dollars go to I am not sure how so many determine Israel is the one we need to constantly bash. We should stay out of the middle east period.

CT, I seem to remember seeing something on the news several years ago. It was the Israeli government forcing some of the settlers out of their homes. I don't remember how long ago this was or how widespread it was either. Do you remember this and if so could you enlighten me on it?
