What shape will America be in after Obama's second term?

Obama has proven that he has no interest in creating a better business environment for companies to grow and expand. He signed into law a health care plan that is abysmal at best. He wants to give 11+ million illegals government benefits while we continue to run a 1 trillion dollar deficit.

I know congress is just as responsible for the current status, but Obama had the ability to pass ANYTHING he wanted during the first 2 years while the Dems controlled both the house and senate. They chose to pass health care but did not produce a budget.

My question is this.....if we continue down the same path for the next 4 years what will America look like?

I do not have any faith in the federal government fixing any of the problems we currently face.

I don't think we will have riots but I do think because of Obamacare unemployment will reach 10+%. The entitlement programs will continue to expand along with the deficit. The dollar will continue to devalue and inflation will reach double digits.

Not too different than it looks right now. I think unemployment at or around 8% is the new floor for unemployment. Entitlements will still be at all-time highs.

I think racial tensions will be at or worse than they are right now.

Wall Street types will still have high contacts with Obama and his cabinet and will still be making billions bending and breaking the rules.

The military will be similar to what is was when Clinton left office.

Education will still be in the shitter.

Healthcare is where we will see the real changes. Even at this late date hospital administrations and physicians are not really sure what to expect out of Obamacare being fully implemented. They know it will cause harm but it is hard to truly grasp just how harmful it will be across the board from reimbursement to actual care given.

We are about to give citizenship to over 11 Million new people...I am sure the costs associate with that will have an adverse effect and many unintended consequences (as well as the intended consequence of permanent executive power for the democrat party).

All in all, things will be similar to what we see now in many respects (assuming we don't get into another war).

Not too much different then right now. But in the decade following it will get real ugly, real fast.

What happened to Hope and Change?
"cut the deficit in half"

After 4 years it is still Bush's fault even though the Dems had total control for his first 2 years?

Probably not much worse than it is now. The years following will be really, really bad and a lot of people will suffer. However; if I am proven wrong, and unemployment is under 5%, gas is around 2.00 per gallon and entitlement spending returns to Clinton era, then I will vote Democrat for the rest of my life. That is how confindent I am that it will never happen.

I think it will be seen as a lost decade for the United States in terms of economic growth and prosperity. You can really feel that in this country today. There isn't a lot of optimism and hope for a better future like there was in the past.

I see this as well. There is a malaise over this country that I have not felt since the 70s.

I would say roughly this shape:

Throw in some shapes up between Canada and Russia and in the middle of the ocean...

I was not around in the 70's but my dad says it was not fun waiting in long lines for gas.

I felt it for eight years beginning in 2000.

I agree, instead of 57 states, we will only have 50 left.

However, about a dozen of those will be bankrupt.

I'm not going to defend Bush as I think he was a poor president as well but at least there was some economic growth during his presidency.

They weren't. I have memories of it being 100 degrees outside and waiting for hours to get gas. The good thing was that the oil industry in Louisiana was booming and there were jobs galore.
