It still amazes me that people are trying to give LSU shite about this when it's the kid who didn't put forth any effort in the classroom for 2 years that caused the issue.

Who's to say LSU doesn't screw him in the spring like they did a week before NSD?

...plus, apparently we are talking about him taking online courses to make up credits. I would think any reasonable person would admit that the clearinghouse may scrutinize that a little bit more than normal.

Hmmm...interesting timing with grey shirt offers vs full ride offers floating around at the moment...

When a kid's eligibility relies on several online courses he took to make up missing/failed credits, I'd say that is plenty enough standing for any school to reconsider the risk/reward of offering him a scholarship for the current year.
Wow, Les Miles and his staff really suck at recruiting. Are you telling me that LSU had no idea of this kid's academic standing last March? Are you telling me that LSU has not looked at his transcript since OFFERING HIM A SCHOLARSHIP? The kid takes his official visit with his family on Jan. 26th, and everything is good to go. Then on Jan. 28th the LSU coaching staff suddenly questions a course taken 7 months ago?

Uhhhh....ok Name one person that you know of that happening to? Anyone at any college will do. I'm saying I know LSU doesn't have a history of that and of all things LEs Miles wouldn't be on board with that. They would just pull his offer now, completely. Large schools like LSU don't greyshirt someone just to put off screwing them!

ITS STILL NOT CLEARED UP!!! Yes, I know you "think" it will be because of past history with similar courses, but the fact is today you CANNOT say he is cleared. It does suck, but it is the facts.

And this just became news to the LSU staff this week? The kid has rejected every phone or in-person interview with other schools since March. What would you say if I told you that LSU guided him on what courses to take last summer?

Even if LSU guided him on the courses, my understanding is he didnt do well on them, i think this may be the third time he is trying to retake this course. As the semester goes on, it would become apparent he is not doing any better than before. The new SEC signing rules really penalize both players and schools who sign someone who is not a qualifier. Once they sign, if they dont qualify, that slot is gone for that year. It s unfortunate but its very important to take care of your schoolwork as well as your football work. I hope the young man can get his grades up, but not much time is left.

I would say GREAT! But the issue is ongoing. Things in life arent perfect. He is learning this now. It sucks, but in the end he gets to ball at LSU byy overcoming adversity. The staff knows what it is doing. I have no clue to why this is ongoing and happening to him. Life isnt always fair, but it rewards hard work. Tell him to stay strong in his classw ork, get there for summer classes so there is no slacking off, and make it to Jan and get your scholly to be a Tiger!!!

You'd be wrong. But just keep believing the spin coming from the LSU office that doesn't want to admit that they cut a kid a few days before signing day. Just remember, Mathieu, Ware, and Simon were never suspended for a game, just held from play. Remember that we expect Jarrett Lee to play a vital role in the offense in the national title game. Remember that we expect to see Russell Shepard be more involved in the offense next week. We also plan on being more versatile in the passing game with Mettenberger at quarterback.

Somebody is off his meds. U can criticize les and co for many things (most of which are related to the offense) but recruiting isnt one of them

So what's the reason for LSU cutting him loose then? Why are they offering him a grey shirt?

Just remember that if the kid put forth any effort at all in the classroom before the second half of his junior year, he wouldn't be in this situation.

Wow, that's great advice. You would think that Les Miles or Brick Haley would tell him that, right?

You probably would have thought that someone from LSU would have contacted the kid to discuss the grey shirt, right? In person, a phone call, something, right?

Did he bleed after they cut him? Did they at least clean it up?
