I agree but this of course is a different discussion. IE, if you want to come here, I see no rational reason to stop you. It's more OUR fault as a nation that when you arrive, we might start giving you shite at taxpayer expense.
That's really a discussion separate from the "movement" discussion.

Immigration from California to Texas isn't stealing so I don't see how it is in any other case.
Again, two separate discussions are being conflated into one.
If some dude just wants to move so he can make a better living and by "make" I do mean MAKE a better living, then I see no real issue.
As for welfare and handouts. Well, I'm fine with saying, "you can come here, but you aint going to receive welfare on your arrival. Perhaps a time window of being self sufficient while here should be in order to avoid people simple crossing the border for welfare benefits?
In any case, the welfare is separate to me from the movement. I'm a fan of freedom.

Agreed. But until there are massive changes in the welfare state (which won't happen in our lifetimes), I'm against, even though I support freedom of movement ideologically. There would also be a major issue with the US having no borders coming in, but many other countries maintaining their own. Plus countries like the UK and France, with relatively open borders, are kind of a mess with race/political relations (though obviously we're not doing great ourselves).

The Czech Republic is a cesspool. A good % of the population has no work ethic at all and another large % are subject to exploitation at the hands of Russian mafia. It is a beautiful country but it has some serious issues. Poland, on the other hand, is doing all sorts of things to break lose from the former USSR.
Somalia would be the ultimate destination for those of you who think man is better off with no Government. In Somalia you can be anything your lack of compassion and ethics will allow you to be. All you have to do is be the "fittest" and you will survive....

i guess so but a country should still have the power to protect themselves from possible threats from immigration. For example drug wars, terrorism and other things. Immigration is a good thing and should be encouranged but it should be far from just open boarder where people can bring in what ever the F they want.
another thing this country sometimes treats immigrants like they are less then human especially immigrants from latin america. Oh look its a mexican working at a factory he must be illegal lets call ICE and get them to treat him like crap. I've heard stories where border potrol won't even give a group of illegal immigrants water after they had been in the heat for a few days. I have no problem with immigration control just treat them like humans. Not animals.

You can't just take a stroll out in the country, pop up a tent and begin constructing shelter and say it's yours, and neither can someone walk into your home and take possession of it because they question your legitimate hold on the property.

Yup as long as they immigrate legally. The same rights as you have.
IMO the solution to immigration is simple. You want to be an American, defend America. Enlist in a branch of the military for no less than 4 years.

Sovereignty trumps this.
If a sovereign nation does not want you there, you best not try to go there (think trespasser in home).
If a sovereign nation has rules/regulations (laws) for you to enter, better follow them (think admission to a college/club).
