Ok, but is this info stored/saved for all cellphones? Doesn't seem possible. What I'm trying to find out is this. Could LE or my cell provider look back at my phone records/info and be able to tell every place I've been, even when I wasn't making or receiving calls? I don't think so.
Au contraire......well according to this article anyway: The phones communicate via a nationwide network of nearly 300,000 cell towers and 600,000 micro sites, which perform the same function as towers. When they are turned on, they ping these nodes once every seven seconds or so, registering their locations, usually within a radius of 150 feet. By 2018 new Federal Communications Commission regulations will require that cellphone location information be even more precise: within 50 feet. Newer cellphones also are equipped with GPS technology, which uses satellites to locate the user more precisely than tower signals can. Cellphone companies retain location data for at least a year. AT&T has information going all the way back to 2008. 007 up in this mf

Powerful show. That sister is awesome! Sorry if this has been talked about but did anyone else think that kid who had the DUI got a pretty raw deal on the show? Not sure if Dateline should have shown so much about him since he wasn't involved in the case

Almost seemed like an on purpose slight to him. However, I wished they would've shown more on the case itself rather than what had nothing to do with the case. The DL's in his house weren't even mentioned....nor the pending investigation in Spring, TX.

How do you think Google maps gets it's great real-time traffic info? Every cell phone is tracked everywhere it goes. I do not know how long the info is archived, however.

Yes, it just killed me when the mother said she heard her crying all night long when they finally found out.

Yes, his phone was pinged and tracked verifying his time and locations.
If this is the case, why did they not know where he buried the body until he confessed? Wouldn't the cell phone pings from that night show that he drove out to the graveyard where he buried her?

I feel bad for Adam's in laws. There was no reason to show his sister in law in such a way, from an unseen camera, just as they didn't need to keep plastering the kids face who had nothing to do with it.

Didn't that kid kill someone while driving drunk? If so, there shouldn't be much sympathy for him.

To be fair to the show, they had to illustrate how even the people most closest to him didn't realize who he really was. It was a tough way to illustrate it, but effective.

Maybe he figured out he could be traced and quit carrying a cell phone? As it gets to be common knowledge, I imagine more people with something to hide will start doing this. Also, does this work even with the phone turned off?

Memory is dumped automatically every 3 months. Those little buildings underneath the tower are filled up with computers , relay switches and boosting devices. I used to install them

The accident wasn't his fault although he was drunk. It was actually the fault of the person that died. The reason he is in so much trouble is that he fled the scene when he could have possibly helped the person.

Back when it happened someone mentioned drivers license or other trophies found in his home. Not from the two he confessed to, but other women. Are we just done with that since he confessed, or is it being investigated? I personally think e is a serial killer. No I don't know him at all.

For all its charms, I dont miss the crime. People of LA have to do some soul searching. You cant call it heaven and still boast one of the largest murder rates in the free world.
Take out the "urban" crimes, i.e., bad neighborhoods, drug-related, etc, and you'd probably see a moderately low or at least average crime rate.

Yea man, I saw that, but he was part of the investigation so I suppose they thought to include it. Just spent too much time on it when they could've focused on more relevant topics IMO.

Idlewatcher: What investigation is pending in TX? Last night Trilltiger wrote that "Dateline fricked it up. Dude will get the death penalty in TX." But he never followed up with any details. Do you guys actually know something factual or are y'all just a couple of websleuths trying to link BSL to every unsolved kidnapping and murder in the country?
