Friday night game vs South Carolina I think in 2000 where, if I remember correctly Jeremey Witten hit a walk off home run. I think South Carolina came into that series, which was the first conference series of the year, ranked number 1 and undefeated.
I was going to post this as well. It was actually our third SEC series that year. They only had one loss coming in. Here's the write up from that game. LINK

I started going with my Dad in 1982. There would be 100 people for the Saturday double headers and 130 for the Sunday 9 inning game. The best weekend was in 1985 when Ron Polk brought his stacked Bulldogs team to the Box. I had never seen a school travelled so many fans to see a baseball game. The entire left field bleachers were maroon and white. LSU split the doubleheader and won the Sunday game. That was the weekend that everyone realized Bertman was going to have a special time at LSU.

The last game in that stadium was the best for me.
Also, while it doesn't have to deal with an actual game, i do remember attending Skip Bertman's Baseball Camp as a kid....

UC Irvine Comeback was epic. I remember singing "Fat Guy In A Little Coat" to one of their pitchers warming up. He was laughing so much he had a hard time getting focused.

Same here. Skip used to pull some greats to that camp. Played little league baseball with a glove signed at the camp by Tommy Lasorda

A 3 game series, late 80's, against the gators when their HC had a drinking problem. Everytime he left the dugout to go to the mound that wkend, just bout the whole left field bleachers stood up & rang bells, signaling Happy Hr. A 3 game series against the rebs, when Jake Gibbs was their HC. Everytime he left the dugout that wkend, several fans would hold up small tape recorders & play the Billy Cannon run back full blast...Gibbs was the reb's punter on the play. His face got redder & redder thruout the wkend & he ended up getting tossed for some BS reason or another.

Don't remember the game or the year, just remember Eddy Furniss was at bat. My bud, that I share a pair of season tickets, and I had gotten there for a mid-week game and were sitting on the second row of the bleachers just past the dugout with our feet on the front row. Eddy fouled a ball down the right side. That ball one hopped over the fence and was screaming right at us. We break our chair backs by pushing back to get out of the way of that ball. Good thing. A young man, looked like a student tried to bare hand the ball. He didn't catch it, but disappeared holding his hand. :banghead: My buddy and I looked at each other and decided we made the correct decision of getting out of the way.

Back in the 80's playing shortstop in a Legion game at the Box. Overthrew 1st so bad it hit the old water fountain behind the dugout. Same game, a pigeon shatted on my uncle's head.

Undoubtedly game 3 of the 2008 super regional vs Irvine. Seeing Dean, Gibbs, and Clark blast back-to-back-to-back home runs was unbelievable. I'll probably never see the likes of that again.
This. Hell of a way to end Old Alex Box's great run. Glad I was there for this.

I have two: Beating USL back to back 12-2 in the 2002 Regional. Saturday night against UC Irvine in 2008 supers. The UCI fans were sitting right behind us and were already making Omaha plans/reservations, You should have seen the looks on their faces when the Tigers came back and won.

Skip Bertman era: Joey Belle hit a HR one night at the Box that seemed to go 500 ft into the darkness of left center. It may still be bouncing down Nicholson. Eddy Furniss had a 3 HR game against Georgia(?). It reminded me of a home run derby contest. The fans kept chanting "Eddy, Eddy, Eddy" Awesome! Jim Smith/Jack Lamabe era: Going to a midweek game as a student. Only a few people were there. It was so quiet we were able to bring books and actually study and do homework, sitting where today would be the Champions Club.
