2011, your graph doesn't show it. Read the article posted by the OP, large defense cuts in 40 years. The sequestration that's coming up will cut another $1.2trillion. The economy only grows when someone is spending, either the consumer or the government or both.

yes, that is a good sign. But the economy has been artificially inflated with the dumping of government cash into the system. but these spending levels are unsustainable. and, i will agree, once you pull the plug on that spending, our now addicted economy with go through withdraws and we will se a retraction in the economy.
Just like the family that rings up massive credit card bills, eventually they cant borrow anymore and their spending is greatly reduced.....
I think its come to the fact that the only way out is to inflate our way out.....

There might be cuts coming (I'll believe it when I see it) but there have been no cuts yet and there sure as hell weren't any cuts that would affect Q4 2012.

I am beginning to believe that we never will rise off the boxing ring floor. The President and others in positions of power seem to be hunky dory with idea of a stagnant economy which is producing a new class of dependents of govt largesse. Take a look at the numbers of potential jobs a la the Keystone pipeline that have been decapitated by the actions of the EPA. Thousands of jobs are being eliminated by new regulations on coal emmissions. Take a the facts in the thread about doing taxes from last night. The "poor" of America are making out like bandits to say the least.
