Wahoo from Cocodrie?

I'm looking for some info on catching some wahoo out of Cocodrie. From what I know about wahoo, I just need to find a rig on the ledge in about 200-400 feet of water and drag some Stretch 30s and/or shaky baits.

My big question is what direction should I run? Due South towards GC? Or could I run SE towards MC where I can get to deeper water a little faster? Not looking for anyone's secret spot, just looking for a little direction. And for your help I'll include this...

Any of those single? If so I'll jump on board and bring you to my spots.

I run south and you don't have to go that deep either. A lot of people are surprised to see the wahoo we catch fishing for kings. MC you'll be competing with guys running from Fourchon and GI. You want to be the first at what ever area you plan to hit.

Awesome looking rip between st 127 and 161. Plus those are some awesome areas for mangroves. And 10-15 more miles you get to some good aj

Thanks for the info. How do you like using ripcharts? I've had Hiltons for the past year, but I feel like the map software is a little outdated. It takes forever to load and isn't the most user friendly.

Head towards the mouth of the river. If you go west it will take forever to get past 200 feet of water. Ship Shoal is really shallow. Ship Shoal 300 area is still less than 400 feet and probably a good 70 miles off the beach.

re: Wahoo from Cocodrie?
Start at ST 151 and fish every rig, buoy, floating trash between there and the edge of the shelf. Wahoo come onto the shelf starting in December through about April to spawn. They are not deep in GC, ~150'-350' is what you're looking for and surface temps 67-74°...
