i thought i would never hear myself say this in my life .. but the super bowl is getting almost TOO big for NOLA .. of all the cities that have hosted it in the last 10 years, NOLA is far and away the smallest ..

But Jacksonville was the shittiest. By far.

ETA: Well, Detroit is really the shittiest now that I think about it.

I don't agree with that. Obviously I'm going to be a homer, but the size of our Convention Center with the number of restaurants and bars in such a compact area can handle numbers that a higher populated/Bigger city can handle.

I always thought Houston wasn't that great. Big city and all, but it's really spread out. And there isn't much by Reliant at all.

I have never liked Houston, Super Bowl or not. It is just miles and miles of Generica. People there get stoked about going to Chili's or Applebee's. Just not my bag.

oh, no one can handle a party like New Orleans can .. there is NO doubt about that .. but the Super Bowl has kind of morphed into this week long celebration of wealth, idol/hero worship, "look at me!", "me too, me too !", etc. ... i just don't remember it being close to this even 11 years ago, the last time it was here .. i just think that is how big it has grown in the last decade ..

and, cades, jacksonville is actually THE largest city in the U.S. in terms of incorporated land area, believe it or not ..

I thought that before I lived there for 6 years. It's a very cool city with tons of stuff besides chains. And an amazing food city. But when you coast through on I10 it looks like a total crap fest of chains and car dealerships

Oh, I believe it. The problem was infrastructure and the fact that they were in the jorts capital of the known world.
