I know that most parents from Louisiana on here probably have kids at private schools, so I'm curious how most would feel about this happening to their kids.

I remember giving samples in HS thinking I was frickED, but both times they never told me I failed. I think they only took the samples and only tested a small percentage

no problem if its a private school. I personally disagree with drug testing unless the kid is an athlete or fricking up but being a private school it can do what it wants.

Not sure how I feel about this. I smoked weed in high school and kept a good GPA. So what would testing me prove? If you are making the grades and are not a disruptive student and fail a drug test will they punish you for it? I know it has to be random so they can not get caught up in a discrimination law suit., but i think a better way to handle it would be to have the parents do it if they are suspicious of drug and alcohol use. The school could contact the parents and tell them why they think the student is using drugs then the parents can handle it. I would not want tuition money I was spending on my child's education to spent on drug testing the school.

I don't know the specifics but I believe they can test for about any drug that you've done in the last couple of months with a hair sample.Your right.No alcohol.
