I grew up riding cutting horses, but I had to stop when I was young and never got the chance to work. I'll always wear my ropers

What can one expect to pay for a quality set of boots?

Lucchese is the only pair of boot I'll wear. Do you want them for work, or something more casual and an every day wear?

Both. I want something that I'll never need to take off.

Depends on what you want, honestly. Ariat, Justin, Twisted X, Lucchese, etc. Most people make a solid boot these days, just depends on your foot and the style that you want. They can run you 120 up to the thousands

Well, by work I mean manual labor, etc. I have 2 pair of Luccheses. I don't wear them to work in... They cost too damn much for that. If you want something to wear out, around, etc. buy a pair of Lucchese and never look back. If you're looking for more of a combo, buy a cheaper pair of Tony Lamas or Ariats. Or just a classic Justin roper.

Well, I only buy Red Wing work boots. Not the shite with the sneaker soles that are made in China, though. I like a nice low-key boot like the one I posted. Some of the boots Lucchese has are gawdy as hell.

frick yeah they are. Mine aren't all that out there. Standard piping, French toe. One of the pairs is custom that I got from the state Capitol though. Stitched state seal with my name on 'em. If you just want something to knock around in, trust me and get Lucchese. Worth every penny.

I have a pair of Ariats that I wear the majority of the time. Probably the most comfortable shoes I own

I have a pair of these Nocona's, not a lot of people have them and they're great. Also have some Lucchese ropers and some ostrich ropers by Justin. If you're ever in Sante Fe, there's a store just off of the square that does a damn good job

You can get away with that shite in Texas. My next purchase will be a light tan or black cherry ostrich... But those are damn expensive. At Leddy's in FW you can walk in and select a hide hanging on the wall... They'll make anything you want. Boots, wallet, belt, hatband, you name it.
