(Posted on 1/30/13 at 12:15 am to Hog Springs) Hiking trails along the bluff at the top of the Buffalo River is a nice hike. Current River can be floated year round. Can't help with the cabin - I always camped in a tent. Lot of cabins along the trout rivers, and one of the lakes has a marina that rents houseboats.
